Safety Training and Resources

Safe laboratory practice is important for your well being, the people around you, animals in your care, as well as our environment. This page was developed to assist faculty, staff, students and visitors working and researching in the Department of Animal Science at NC State University in becoming trained and certified in a variety of safety practices that may be necessary to your work, research, and education. It is important that the specific safety training and education necessary for the type of work you will be performing be completed prior to actively working in the laboratory, using certain equipment, working with animals or some types of specimens. It is the responsibility of your supervisor or PI to determine the specific training necessary for the work and duties you will be performing.  For Assistance with laboratory safety, training and compliance please contact
